PMPML Warns Commuters Against PMPML fake Apli PMPML app Scam
Pune Mahanagar Parivahan Mahamandal Limited (PMPML) has cautioned passengers about a fraudulent version of its official mobile app, Apli PMPML. The transport body has warned users against downloading the PMPML fake Apli PMPML app, which is being promoted through deceptive advertisements on YouTube, Telegram, Facebook, Instagram, and other social media platforms.
PMPML officials revealed that fraudsters are misleading commuters by falsely claiming that the fake app allows users to obtain travel passes free of cost. The scam is designed to lure passengers into downloading the counterfeit application, putting them at risk of financial fraud and data theft.
In response to the scam, PMPML has filed a complaint with the Cyber Security Cell of the police department against the unknown individuals responsible for distributing and promoting the fake app. Authorities have assured that strict legal action will be taken under the IT Act to penalise those involved in the fraudulent activity.
PMPML and Cyber Security Cell Track Fraudulent App Operators
A specialised team from PMPML’s technical unit, in coordination with the Cyber Security Cell, is closely monitoring social media platforms to identify and apprehend those behind the circulation of the fake ‘Apli PMPML’ app. Officials have urged passengers to exercise caution and avoid downloading any unofficial PMPML applications to prevent falling victim to online fraud.
PMPML has issued a stern warning that individuals found using or promoting the counterfeit app will face legal consequences. Commuters are strongly advised to rely solely on the official Apli PMPML app for a safe and hassle-free experience.
