FSSAI Notice to Indore’s Hotel Radisson After Cockroach Complaint

The Food Safety and Standard Authority of India FSSAI serves a notice to Hotel Radisson after cockroaches were found near food served to the cast of a TV serial. The hotel has been given seven days to respond.

Chetna Bhisle, Central Licensing Authority, confirmed that an inspection revealed insects on the serving table, though not in the food itself. ‘We have served a notice to the hotel and sought a clarification within seven days,’ Bhisle stated. ‘Action will be taken if the hotel fails to provide a satisfactory reply.’

Hotel manager Manas Banerjee acknowledged the issue and stated that they are addressing it. ‘We received a notice from the food regulator and are working on improvements,’ he told Free Press. This is the second incident involving Hotel Radisson, as they were previously cited for storing and serving rotten potatoes.

The FSSAI notice to Indore’s Hotel Radisson underscores the critical need for stringent compliance with food safety standards. This action serves as a reminder for all hospitality businesses to prioritise hygiene and proactively address any issues to avoid legal consequences.
