Sajith Sivanandan Appointed President of Jio Mobile Digital Services
Sajith Sivanandan, former CEO of Disney+ Hotstar, has been named President of Jio Mobile Digital Services. In his new position, he will oversee the company’s AI-driven digital offerings, focusing on innovation and user-centric advancements. The announcement was confirmed by Sivanandan on LinkedIn.
Extensive Experience in Technology and Media
Before joining Disney+ Hotstar in 2022, Sivanandan spent over 14 years at Google, where he served as Managing Director and Business Head for Google Pay and the Next Billion Users initiative across the APAC region. During his tenure, he was instrumental in establishing Google Pay’s operations in India and driving its growth strategy. He also held leadership roles such as Managing Director and Country Head at Google Malaysia.
Leadership at Disney+ Hotstar and Beyond
Sivanandan joined former Disney+ Hotstar head Jio in October 2022, where he managed the platform’s business operations in India until December 2024. He played a key role in defining strategic priorities and developing a product roadmap that emphasized growth and innovation.
In addition to his corporate roles, Sivanandan was associated with XA Network, a technology investment group that supports startups in Southeast Asia with capital and expertise.
Career Beginnings and Educational Background
Sajith Sivanandan Jio Mobile Digital Services began his career at Star TV India in 1996, managing Channel V’s North India market. He later worked with organisations like The Gallup Organisation and Affle UK Ltd, gaining significant experience in analytics and digital media strategy.
An alumnus of St. Columba’s School in New Delhi, Sivanandan holds a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) degree in History from Hindu College, Delhi University. He earned an MBA from the FORE School of Management in New Delhi and pursued another MBA with a focus on finance from the Asian Institute of Management.
